Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen talk to Melyvn Bragg

The Pin – aka Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen - feature in this week’s South Bank Show, after being named the breakthrough comedy act in the arts programme’s annual award.

In this exclusive clip, the duo talk to presenter Melvyn Bragg about their spoof Zoom videos made in lockdown.

The pair started their comedy career with the Cambridge Footlights in 2009, and in 2015 their sketch comedy series won best comedy show at the 2016 BBC Radio Awards. Their 2020 play, The Comeback, was described by The Telegraph as, ‘the funniest West End double act in years.’

Their South Bank Show episode airs on Sky Arts, 9pm on Thursday.
