First trailer for Motherland series 3

Featuring Joanna Lumley

The BBC has released the trailer for series three of Motherland - including a first look at Joanna Lumley in her guest role.

The Ab Fab star plays Felicity, the mother of Amanda, the alpha mum of the school gates, played by Lucy Punch.

Of her role, Lumley said: ‘I have played Lucy’s mother before, in the film Ella Enchanted, so it was a special treat to pitch up again as another fairly poisonous parent in Motherland.

‘Although I was only in for a day it was the greatest fun to be with that dangerously talented cast.

That cast includes Anna Maxwell Martin – whose stressed character Julia is show in the trailer learning that her own mother can no longer live independently -  Diane Morgan, Paul Ready and Tanya Moodie.

The comedy returns to BBC Two later this spring, although no broadcast date has yet been confirmed.
