Joe Lycett creates 'definitely the greatest painting of the 21st Century'

comedyJoe Lycett is taking his latest portray –  which he calls his greatest ever artwork – on tour.

The Mona Lisa Scott-Lee, is a homage to the most famous portrait in art, with Steps member Lisa Scott-Lee acting his idol and muse. She is portrayed holding a copy of bandmate Cheryl's memoirs, My Story.

Lycett said: ‘This is undoubtedly one of my best works and definitely the greatest painting of the 21st Century. 

‘Make no bones about it; this is a huge cultural moment, a seismic shift in what we know to be true about art. If you don’t like the Mona Lisa Scott-Lee – sorry, you’re wrong.’

His tour of nine prestigious art spaces and bookshops promotes his new book, Joe Lycett’s Art Hole, which is published on September 29.

The book features portraits of the likes of Harry Styles, Robert Peston, Nadine Dorries, Elaine Paige, Eamonn Holmes and Mick Hucknall.

He will be signing copies of the book at the London venues, provided fans buy them at the venues while exclusive, free postcards will be available at other venues on the tour while stocks last. 

Last night, Lycett hosted the Sky Arts awards, which he kicked off with a song-and-dance number highlighting the importance of culture.
