Frankie Howerd’s London house on the market

But is it cheap? Oooh, no missus!

comedyFrankie Howerd’s London home is up for sale – for a cool £6million.

The five-bedroom Georgian townhouse is in exclusive Edwardes Square in Kensington, West London, which is laid out around a private 1820s garden.

Howerd lived at the four-storey property for more than 25 years, from 1966 to his death in 1992. He also had a villa in Wavering Down, Somerset.

The comic’s link to the London home - which also has four bathrooms and its own private garden –  is marked by a  blue plaque erected by The Dead Comic’s Society.

Estate agents Knight Frank, which is marketing the home for £5.95million, calls the building: ‘A beautifully presented five bedroom Grade II listed Georgian family house, located over only four floors, offering excellent living and entertainment space.

‘This wonderful house has the advantage of a private garden and access to the highly sought-after private garden square… with beautifully maintained gardens, a grass tennis court, trees and a children's play area.’
