Could we see Derry Girls: The Movie?

Creator Lisa McGee hints that we might

comedyDerry Girls could become a movie, creator Lisa McGee has suggested.

'That's definitely something we're talking about and something I'd like to explore,' she told Red Carpet News.

'It's just if the story is right. So, it's about me figuring all that out at some point.'

The writer added that the upcoming third series would see the core characters, Erin, James, Clare, Orla and Michelle, 'grow up a little bit".

'There's definitely a very personal journey that they go on, as well as a political one. It's an exciting time for them as they're just on the cusp of adulthood.'

Returning later this year, the new episodes will also see 'lots of new guest characters, as always. In every episode, we have a new big guest star come in.

'That's really exciting, writing those. That has been good craic, looking forward to shooting all of that.'

Stars Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Dylan Llewellyn, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and Siobhán McSweeney appeared on Channel 4's Great Festive Bake-Off over Christmas.
