The Gooners Show

Why do so many comedians support Arsenal?

comedyArsenal seems to be the club of choice for comedians - and Milton Jones has a theory why.

Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, the comic says that in some episodes, four out of seven people on Mock the Week will be fellow Gooners, helped by the fact Dara O Briain is a fan.

'I think it’s because it’s got the word "arse" in it," he suggests

As well as Jones, the club's comedian fans include Clive Anderson, Alan Davies, Matt Lucas, Ian Stone, Jack Whitehall and Romesh Ranganathan.

Despite his devotion to the club, Jones says he always turns down the chance to perform at Aresnal's annual fundraising dinner 'because of the stress of seeing all your heroes not laughing'.
