Romesh Ranganathan needs stitches after being injured by Jamie Rednapp

comedyRomesh Ranganathan needed four stitches above his eye after being elbowed in the face by Jamie Redknapp.

The comic needed hospital treatment after a challenge on Sky One’s League Of Their Own show went wrong.

He was taken to A&E after sliding down a slippery ramp and into the former Liverpool footballer, whose outfit clipped Ranganathan’s face, causing him to bleed heavily.

A show source told The Sun: ‘Romesh tried to shrug it off but it just wouldn’t stop so had to go to A&E after. He had four stitches but is in good spirits.’

Last year the comedian broke Redknapp’s wrist while trying to break a world record by dropping a football on him from 120ft.

After the incident the stand-up comedian posted a picture of himself on social media wearing a shower cap over his face with the caption: ‘Make sure you keep the stitches dry.’

Redknapp then shared the snap with his 1.1 million followers, joking that it was karma.
