‘I can’t stand your stand-up'

Every comedian has to endure hecklers – but Johnny Vegas's fiercest critic is very close to home: his own mother.

The comic appears on All Round To Mrs Brown's this weekend alongside mum Pat Pennington, who reveals she no fan of his stand-up, and admits she'd rather watch Brendan O'Carroll's alter-ego than her own son.

'I can't stand your stand-up,' she says bluntly. 'It's filthy.'

When Vegas defends it as 'just a different take on looking at life', mum fires back: 'Well it's not my kind of life.'
