Plymouth to get its own comedy estival

Josh Widdicombe is backing the inaugural Plymouth Comedy Festival as ambassador.
More than 30 shows have been confirmed for a three-day programme across the city from February 5 to 7, but the line-up will not be announced until Friday next week.
The comedian, one of the new hosts of Strictly Come Dancing, is supporting the event, which has been created by the team Behind the Laughter Lab ins in the South West.
Widdicombe said: ‘Plymouth is a city that means a great deal to me, so it is brilliant to see a comedy festival bringing fantastic acts and audiences together across the city. I’m delighted to support its first year as an ambassador and excited to see what it can become.’
The event will involve the Barbican Theatre, University of Plymouth, The Box, Bread & Roses and Steel Brew.
