Eugene Mirman releases his first special in a decade

Free on YouTube

Eugene Mirman has released his first stand-up special in a decade for free on YouTube.

Here Comes the Whimsy covers anecdotes from fatherhood, insights from travel, dress-code trauma and rental car disputes.

The comedian announced the surprise release a month after he was hospitalised following a fiery car crash in New Hampshire. He has said ‘I feel so, so unbelievably lucky’ to have survived.

He is on the mend enough to open for Bob’s Burgers co-star Kristen Schaal in Los Angeles next Tuesday.

To promote the album, Mirman has released merch including a number of ‘politically confusing magnetic bumper stickers’ with messages such as ‘Baby On Board… with a two-state solution’, ‘My child is an honour student… just kidding. He’s super high but I love him’ and ‘Robert Kennedy Jr ate my pussy… but like the whole thing and now I have no pussy’.  The unusual items are available here.

Mirman is known for voicing middle child Gene Belcher on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers since the animation premiered in 2011. He also played Eugene in Flight Of The Conchords.
