Twenty Twenty Six heads to the US

Rare deal for sitcom to be on two streamers

Twenty Twenty Six is to stream on two American platforms from next month.

The comedy, in which Hugh Bonneville reprises his W1A role of Ian Fletcher to help Fifa stage the World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico – so was always ripe for US sales.

Now it has been confirmed that BBC Studios has struck deals with both BritBox and Fox streamer Tubi to air the six-part sitcom, created by John Morton and set in Miami.

In a rare agreement, the programme will launch on both channels on May 1, and on BBC First in Canada on the same day.
