Brighton comedy festival expands

This year's Brighton Dome Comedy Festival won’t just be at the Brighton Dome.

Organisers have teamed up with the nearby Komedia so the ten-day festival will be spread across both venues.

Headliners at Brighton Dome's  from October 16 to 25  include Tom Davis performing material his new tour, Spudgun. Taskmaster winners Maisie Adam and Sam Campbell  and Nish Kumar performing his show Angry Humour From A Really Nice Guy.

Over at Komedia, comics include Phil Ellis, Aurie Styla and Jordan Brookes.

Rosie Crane, programme manager at Brighton Dome said: ‘How exciting to align two Brighton powerhouses of comedy to bring our audiences an even more brilliantly funny festival.’

And Sam Moore, lead programmer at Komedia added: 'With this partnership, we want to highlight Brighton's leading role in the country's comedy eco-system, bridging the gap between grassroot venues and theatres.’

The festival will also include comedy workshops for young people, culminating in a showcase at the end of the run, and a six-day clowning workshop for people in recovery from addiction.

Further acts are still to be announced.
