'Pick-and-mix' industry help for comics without an agent
New consultancy launches
A new consultancy has launched with the aim of giving unrepresented comedians access to the kind of professional support that has traditionally only been available to those signed with an agent.
Reppd will offer advice on the business side of comedy such as personal branding, social media, contract negotiation and long-term career planning on a pay-as-you-go basis, meaning performers can dip in and out of support as they need it.
The company was founded by Kate Lennon, who previously worked as an agent with UTC Artist Management.
She said: ‘Comedians today are navigating more than just the stage. They're building audiences online, self-producing work and having to make strategic career decisions earlier than ever. For those artists without an agent, it's difficult to know what to prioritise.’
Reppd offers services including career consultation, contract assessment and connecting performers with relevant industry contacts – and says it is an ‘affordable, accessible model’.
Free initial consultations are available via the company's website, reppd.co.uk.
