Comedians Robin Morgan and Esyllt Sears launch a parenting show

Welsh comedians Robin Morgan and Esyllt Sears are launching  a parenting podcast likely to be more honest than helpful.

Each week on Speaking As A Mother, the pair will discuss their parenting experiences, comment on topical news and offer ‘unsolicited advice’ to listeners.

Morgan, a married father, and Sears, a single mother, both admit they’re not entirely sure they know what they’re doing as parents.

‘I’m so excited for this podcast - Esyllt and I have been friends for years and now I get to call her a bad mother each and every week on the podcast? Perfection,’ said Morgan.

‘This pod will have the energy of maybe not a mums WhatsApp group, but certainly the side mums’ WhatsApp group where all the good stuff lives. Gossip and side-eyes from day one.’

The first episode includes discussions about drinking while breastfeeding, writing a book from prison, and Morgan calling out a former teacher for not inviting him back to speak at his old school.

Sears said: ‘I’m at my best as a parent when I manage to nab a family parking spot at the supermarket. At my worst when I need to be doing just about anything else.

‘Twelve years on and I still can’t believe the University Hospital of Wales let me take a baby home with me, so I hope that catching up with Robin every week to hear about his failings will make me feel a bit better about my own.’
