
Last One Laughing wins TV award
Edinburgh accolades for Big Boys and Sophie Willan too
Last One Laughing has been named best entertainment series at the Edinburgh TV Festival awards.
Big Boys was named best comedy series, and Sophie Willan took home best TV actor – comedy for her role in BBC’s Alma’s Not Normal, which she also wrote.
As announced before the festival, Sir Lenny Henry won the outstanding achievement award for a career that's included raising over £1 billion for Comic Relief since 1985 and campaigning for more diversity in the industry.
The news comes after the line-up for Last One Laughing series two was announced at the festival.
Adolescence was named best drama at tonight’s ceremony was hosted by Nick Mohammed.
The Edinburgh TV Festival’s head of awards Bianca Newby said: ‘This year’s awards celebrate the extraordinary imagination and innovation driving our industry forward.
‘Each nominee and winner has shown remarkable resilience and originality in discovering new ways to tell impactful stories. It’s such a privilege to honour and celebrate the teams and individuals whose talent continues to define and reimagine the future of television.’
