Accolades handed out at the Edinburgh Fringe

Artwork for Alison Spittle and Jessica Aszkenasy’s shows have won the Comedy Poster Awards at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The audience award went to  the poster for Spittle’s show Big designed by Oliver Deans, with photography by Matt Stronge and make-up by Pheobe Dawson Derry.

She wins a full-page advert in the weekly magazine, 247 Fringe, published by flyer company Out of Hand’ as well as 5,000 A6 flyers and 100 A3 posters printed.

The other shortlisted entries were Christian Dart: Gumshoe!, Freya McGhee: Experimental, Gross Domestic Product. Jordan Gray: Is That a C*ck in Your Pocket, or Are You Just Here to Kill Me?, Mitch Benn: The Lehrer Effect and  Roger O'Sullivan: Fekken

The panel prize, judged by marketing creatives, went to the poster Aszkenasy’s Titclown, designed by Dylan Woodley, with photography by Rebecca Need-Menear.

The judges also shortlisted: Ali Brice Presents Eric Meat Gets the Chop, Mr Chonkers and Olaf Falafel Asks: Orange You Glad?

Comedy producer Gina Lyons, founder of the awards, said: ‘Walking around Edinburgh and looking at the posters, I've seen so much brilliant creativity on display this year. 

‘Congratulations to all the designers, photographers and acts involved in our shortlisted entries for being such talented individuals.’
