BBC announces Boarders cast

New comedy from Daniel Lawrence Taylor.

Casting has been announced for Boarders, the upcoming BBC Three  comedy drama series created by Timewasters writer Daniel Lawrence Taylor.

The six-part series follows the lives of five talented underprivileged black students from inner-city London who win scholarships to St Gilbert’s, an elite boarding school.

It will star Josh Tedeku, Jodie Campbell, Myles Kamwendo, Sekou Diaby and Aruna Jalloh.

Lawrence Taylor will play Gus, a mentor to  the new students.  Derek Riddell will play headmaster Bernard, and Niky Wardley will play Carol Watlington-Geese, chair of the school board.

They will be joined by Harry Gilby, Tallulah Greive, Rosie Graham Georgina Sadlerand Assa Kanoute,.

Lawrence Taylor said: ‘It’s really exciting to see Boarders finally come to life. I’ve been gifted with the most incredible cast and creative team who are injecting so much joy and energy into the show. I hope the audience loves it as much as we're loving making it.’

Filming is now under way in the South West of England and Boarders is due to air on BBC Three and iPlayer next year.
