Aunty Donna announce short UK tour

First visit from Netflix sketch trio since 2017

Australian sketch trio Aunty Donna have announced a short tour of UK and Ireland.

The six dates – in Glasgow, Dublin, Bath, Birmingham, London and Manchester this autumn – comprise their first tour of these shores.

They last played the UK in 2017 with their Edinburgh Fringe show Big Boys, and since then made  Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun for Netflix. The series was executive produced by The Office’s Ed Helms and  Comedy Bang! Bang!’s Scott Aukerman.

The premise of the new tour is that the trio – Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruan – have to perform sketches old and new to impress a Magical Dead Cat.

They said: ‘We were initially hesitant. It seemed we would provide the bulk of the entertainment whilst the Magical Dead Cat would merely bring some coughed up fur balls. We raised our concerns with the Magical Dead Cat, and it offered to sweeten the deal by ending each show with a special surprise web slinging guest whose name rhymes with Glider Man. Desperate to meet this special surprise guest, we immediately said yes.’

The trio, who formed in Melbourne in 2012, have a sizeable online following, with more than 2million followers across all platforms and 113 million views on YouTube.
