Photography exhibition to showcase UKTV publicity shots

Pop-up event in London next month

Publicity shots commissioned for UKTV channels are to go on display at a free photography exhibition in Central London.

More than 170 photographs – including the one of James Acaster and Josh Widdicombe promoting Hypothetical, above – will be shown alongside props from the broadcaster’s shows at the Covent Garden pop-up in October.

The event also aims to get visitors to sign up for the free streaming service UKTV Play, which carries programming from Dave, W, Yesterday and Drama.

Andrea Amey, general manager of digital at UKTV, said: ‘We are so excited to showcase some of the beautiful portraits from the programming across our channel network.

‘This is a brilliant opportunity to see the shots as works of art in their own right, at size and scale. This type of exhibition is so rarely seen and we’re delighted to offer a view to the public completely free for three days.’

Photographers whose work will be showcased include Simon Webb, India Whiley-Morton, Des Willie, James Stack, Kerry Spicer, Ray Burmiston and Shamil Tanna.

The UKTV Play Photography Exhibition will be open at The Stables, Unit X, 40 Earlham Street, Covent Garden on October 7 to 9, from 12pm to 6pm daily
