Irish comic now a breakfast host

Irish comedian Eddie Bannon has become a breakfast show radio host in Australia.

The stand-up, who started his career with the Dublin Comedy Improv team and previously ran the Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny,  will now be on be heard on Adelaide’s Mix102.3,

He will join Ali Clarke – who headlines the show – and Erin Phillips from 6am to 9am on weekdays.

Bannon – who had a small role in Father Ted and supported the likes of Lenny Henry, Ardal O’Hanlon, Tommy Tiernan and Rich Hall before relocating down under – said: ‘All jokes aside – this is a spectacular job for me!

‘What comedian doesn’t like to have a laugh and share stories every morning and, cherry on top, get paid for the privilege; it’s a dream come true.

The show kicks off next Monday.
