Extra episodes for his improvised RTE One hit

Tommy Tiernan’s Irish chat show has been extended by six weeks.

The fifth series of comic’s Saturday-night show was due to  finish its ten-week run next weekend

But the RTE One programme - in which the comic has no idea who the guests are until they walk on stage - has been extended to April.

It has been attracting audiences of more than 400,000, or more than a third of all viewers in its timeslot.

Guests this series ahve included writer Marian Keyes, presenter Baz Ashmawy  and actor Stephen Rea – who discussed his marriage to the late Dolours Price, a former Provisional IRA member,
