More names join the 2021 Leicester Comedy Festival

The Leicester Comedy Festival, has announced more shows for next year’s event.

Taking place from February 3 to 21, the programme now comprises more than 350 live and online events.

Comedians announced today include Russell Kane, Rosie Jones (pictured), Ahir Shah, Phil Wang and Stephen Bailey, who join the previously announced Angela Barnes, Ed Byrne, Larry Dean, Angelos Epithemou, Tez Ilyas, Tony Law, Stewart Lee, Zoe Lyons, Al Murray and Ian Stirling.

Geoff Rowe, the festival’s founding director  said: ‘We completely understand that life continues to be tricky for plenty of people, not least comedians and people working in the entertainment industry.  

‘We have worked hard every February since 1994 to provide an opportunity for people to celebrate British comedy and support new and emerging talent.  With the support of our partners, we are determined to continue this in 2021 and it’s fantastic to be extending the size of the festival with this announcement today.  

‘While things may look a bit different in February, we are proud that we can work together with others to continue to evolve and sustain the festival.’

Newly announced shows inlcude The (not so) Late Night Comedy Club, which wil take place online at 9pm on each Saturday night of the festival, and the traditional closing show, Comedy Heaven, which will take place at the Y Theatre, featuring Ahir Shah, Lauren Pattison, Sarah Keyworth, Sunil Patel, Michael Odewale and others.
