Red Dwarf fan convention goes forward in time

Dimension Jump postponed to September 2021

The annual Red Dwarf fan convention has been postponed for a second time.

The Dimension Jump event had originally been slated to take place in May, but was postponed until February next year because of coronavirus restrictions.

However, organisers now believe even that will not be late enough to run their usual programme, including autograph sessions and photograph opportunities with the cast.

They are also concerned that quarantine restrictions may make it difficult for overseas fans to attend - so the convention has now been put off until September 2021.

In a statement, the show’s official fan club said: ‘We want our attendees to enjoy Dimension Jump with confidence that their health is not at risk as they gather with fellow Red Dwarf fans.’

‘However, with current travel restrictions making it difficult for international Dwarfers to attend, and in light of the latest government legislations regarding group gatherings, we have no choice but to postpone Dimension Jump XXI once again.

‘While this date seems so far away and many fans will no doubt be disappointed that they have such a long wait, we are hopeful that this time next year it'll be safe for us all to meet.’

Stars due to attend included  Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and both Hollys – Norman Lovett and Hattie Hayridge.

The event takes place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham.
