Top comedy writers to mentor BAME talent

Established comedy writers are offering a year's free mentoring to BAME talent hoping to break into the business.

Andy Riley – whose credits include Veep, Black Books, Robbie The Reindeer, Tracey Ullman’s Show and more - has been running his scheme for four years, giving advice to the likes of stand-up Sophie Duker.

And this year he has been joined by by The Dawson Brothers – a team comprising Steve Dawson, Andrew Dawson and Tim Inman who havee written for That Mitchell and Webb Look and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, among others.

It means two would-be screenwriters can now receive a year's mentoring.
