Peter Cook's daughters inherit a stake in Private Eye

More than 20 years after his death

Peter Cook's daughters have inherited a stake in Private Eye magazine - more than 20 years after his death.

The comedian left almost his £900,000 estate to his third wife Lin when he died in 1995.

But Lin, who died in November aged 71, remembered his daughters from his first marriage - Lucy, 52, and Daisy,  51 - in her will.

She passed on a  third of the shares in Private Eye publisher Pressdram that she inherited from Cook, who set up the satirical magazine, leaving them a seven per cent stake in the company each.

Lin Cook's total estate was worth £4.7 million, The Mail on Sunday reports.
