Christian Eisenbeiss also produced Dad's Army

The man who helped bring Absolutely Fabulous and Dad’s Army to the big screen has died at he age of 61

Christian Eisenbeiss was chairman of British Film Company, which made the film comedies, and credited as an executive producer.

Eisenbeiss began his career as an investment banker and succeeded his father as chairman of German beer company Holsten, eventually selling the brewer to Carlsberg in 2004.

He became the chairman of the production company in 2011, and his other credits include the Bafta-nominated documentary McCullin and Star Wars documentary Elstree 1976.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie and Dad’s Army were among the biggest British films last year, grossing £16million and £9.6million respectively.

He died on March 30, with his passing announced in the New York Times last week ahead of his funeral last Saturday.
