Second series for Pierre Novellie's Radio 4 show
BBC orders four more episodes
Radio 4 has ordered a second series of Why In The Name Of Pierre Novellie?
The comedian confirmed the news as the last episode in the current series just finished airing.
Four more episodes will be coming out early in 2027.
Novellie said: ‘I’m overjoyed to be returning to the BBC with two more hours of stand-up. Radio is the theatre of the mind and I very much hope to become the phantom in its basement.’
And David Tyler, who produces the show through his company Pozzitive, added: ‘So excited the BBC has asked us to make another series with the brilliant Pierre Novellie; I’m putting the kettle on and looking up the word "erudition" in the dictionary in preparation.’

• Egyptian-American comedian Maria Shehata is also recording a stand-up special for Radio 4. In Maria Shehata Is Wisdomless, she tells the story of taking the biggest risk of her life: leaving LA and moving to London because she’d fallen in love with a man through FaceTime. The show will be recorded on February 24 at The Phoenix Arts Club in Central London and free tickets are available here.
