Comedian shuns Christmas in a new panel show pilot.
Julian Clary is piloting a new panel show about resisting peer pressure.
The comic – and pantomime favourite – will turn Grinch for the sample episode of the Radio 4 show, which is all about Christmas traditions and how he wants to shun them.
Fellow comedians Jo Brand, Glenn Moore, and Fatiha El-Ghorri are also bringing their negativity to the show, which is entitled I Don’t Do… Christmas!
Choirmaster Gareth Malone will be trying his best to raise the spirits of a panel, even though they’d much prefer a silent night.
Producers Daddy’s SuperYacht call it a ‘gloriously mischievous’ format, saying: ‘Expect games, giggles, and more festive gripes than you can shake your figgy pudding at. Elf on the Shelf? More like Elf in the Bin.’
The company also makes the hit Radio 4 comedy Icklewick FM and produced Dan Tiernan’s stand-up special Going Under for radio.
The pilot episode of I Don’t Do... Christmas! With Julian Clary will go out at 6.30pm on Christmas Eve.
