Who's taking part in Comedians Taking Penalties?

Chloe Petts’ new internet series

The acts taking part in Chloe Petts’ new internet series Comedians Taking Penalties have been announced.

The eight-part series launches on YouTube on Tuesday, with each comedian facing a series of ridiculous football challenges, before going toe-to-toe with Chloe in a penalty shootout

Those taking part are:

Episode 1: Nish Kumar
Episode 2: Harriet Kemsley
Episode 3: Rhys James
Episode 4: Lou Sanders
Episode 5: Sophie Duker
Episode 6: Olga Koch
Episode 7: Flo & Joan
Episode 8: Mathew Baynton

Fellow comedian Stuart Laws will be the goalkeeper, as well as being Petts’ sidekick.

Petts joked: ‘I came here to take names and kick balls and I'm all outta names.’

In a trailer promoting the series she added: ‘Are you tired of the beautiful game turning ugly? Then let us fill your footballing heart with joy, courtesy of our eight-part football minis-eries.

’It’s the football contest nobody asked for, but we're doing it anyway. Eight comedians, eight penalty shootouts and a bunch of other absurd ways to rack up valuable points.

‘For the footballing comic who tops the leaderboard at the end of the series a very cheap trophy and bragging rights for at least, I don't know, a week maybe?’

Chortle first reported on the series – made by Graham Norton’s production company So Television –  in June.

The format is said to have been inspired by SkySports  Soccer AM, which came to an end in 2023 after an almost 20-year run, and featured one segment in which celebrities took penalties.

Petts is a dedicated Crystal Palace fan who contributed regularly to Sky Sports. And she’s no slouch at taking penalties herself, as this shootout with former Palace midfielder Shauna Guyatt proves:
