John Kearns announces 2026 tour
55+ dates for Tilting At Windmills
John Kearns has announced a 55-plus date tour of UK and Ireland next year.
Tilting At Windmills is described as ‘a fragmented, digressing portrayal of a 38-year-old man’s life, alluding to books he hasn't read, touching on the modern condition.’
And he calls it ‘decent craic with the right crowd… a show for those who have read about but not committed to the Guinness Nitrosurge’.
It is directed by Jon Brittain, who has previously worked on the stage version of Baby Reindeer and Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho, as well as winning an Olivier award for his own play, Rotterdam.
Former Taskmaster contestant Kearns remains the only comedian to have ever won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for best show and best newcomer in the accolades’ 45-year history.
Meanwhile, the show he created with Adam Riches, imagining themselves as crooners Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, plays the Soho Theatre Walthamstow on September 27.
And later this year he will be making his stage acting debut as Inspector Lestrade in the world premiere of Sherlock Holmes and The Twelve Days of Christmas at The Birmingham Rep, written by Humphrey Ker and David Reed from The Penny Dreadfuls with new songs from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Kearns’ Tilting At Windmills tour starts in Chipping Norton in February and runs through until November. Tickets go on general sale on Friday next week.
