JASPER CARROTT REMEMBERS..: Comedy pioneer Jasper Carrott marks his 80th year with a look back over his career. Having started out in the Midlands' folk club circuit in the 1970s, his observational humour and storytelling style was, like Billy Connolly's a forerunner of contemporary stand-up and lead to TV series such as Carrott’s Lib, Carrot’s Commercial Breakdown and, eventually, The Detectives. Here, Carrott relives those series and shares his insights into what makes for a successful career in comedy writing and performing. BBC Four, 9pm.

FERN BRADY PRESENTS: COMEDY AT THE FRINGE: This six-part showcase of Edinburgh stand-up – actually recorded in London before the festival started – drops on Audible today.

FISK: The third season of the Australian comedy series - starring Kitty Flanagan as a lawyer in a small firm – comes to Netflx. The comic also co-wrote the series with her sister Penny and co-directs with Tom Peterson. This season originally aired down under late last year – and look out for Sam Campbell joining the cast:

8 OUT OF 10 CATS DOES COUNTDOWN: This could be interesting as divorced couple Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont form one of the teams, taking on Rob Brydon and Joe Wilkinson, with Huge Davies in Dictionary Corner. Channel 4, 9pm

LONG STORY SHORT: From the creator of Bojack Horseman, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, this new adult animated series on Netflix tells the story of a family over multiple decades.
