Sunday July 20
MANCHESTER: The ongoing Creatures Comedy Festival has declared today 'Northern Takeover Day' with acts front the region including Rob Auton, Jack Carroll and working-class acts from Best In Class, plus a live podcast recording of Proper Rank hosted by Brennan Reece and Danny McLoughlin, and the final of the venue's comedy competition.
LUDLOW: The castle hosts a major comedy festival with the likes of Katherine Ryan, Russell Howard, Joel Dommett and many more less-well-known but equally as talented comedians. Unsurprisingly it's sold out, but some fan-to-fan resale tickets are available here.
Tuesday July 22
LONDON: Police Cops celebrate their 10th anniversary of low-budget epics with the return of both their original 1980s-set show of adrenaline-fuelled physical comedy, as well as Badass Be Thy Name, a gritty kitchen-sink drama that turns into a vampire-slaying romp. The latter's at Underbelly Boulevard from now til Sunday, and next week they return to the hour where it all began.
Thursday July 24
LONDON: The Ealing Comedy Festival opens its doors (or flaps, given it's in a giant marquee) with a typically star-studded opening gala featuring Andy Parsons, Jo Caulfield, Judi Love, Mark Watson, Paul Sinha, Sam Campbell and Stephen K Amos. A must-see if you're anywhere around West London.
ST ALBANS: The Comedy Garden festivals, and their sister events, are like a modern-day circus, rolling into a new town each week of the summer with their marquee and line-up of weirdos and freaks. In Verulamium Park this week are the likes of Ed Gamble, Rosie Jones, Bridget Christie, Joel Dommett, Jamali Maddix and many, many more. Listings and ticket links.
