The Pin duo pen a new action comedy movie

...about improvisers who get drawn into the criminal underworld

Work is about to start on a new comedy about three improv actors hired by the police to help stage low-level stings.

Deep Cover has been written by Ben Ashenden & Alexander Owen – aka comedy duo The Pin – along with Jurassic World scriptwriters Derek Connolly & Colin Trevorrow.

The cast includes  Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean, Nick Mohammed, Ian McShane, Paddy Considine and Sonoya Mizuno.

Tom Kingsley, known for Stath Lets Flats, Ghosts and Pls Like, will direct.

The film trade press says the improvisers’ instinct to ‘always say yes’ leads them deep inside the London criminal underworld.

It will be distributed on Amazon’s Prime Video platform.

Tushar Jindal, the streamer’s head of UK content, said: ‘We’re delighted to be bringing this new action comedy to our customers

‘With an incredible cast, a top-class creative team, and a fantastic script we know it’s going to be a hit.

Ashenden and Owen met while studying at Cambridge University and in 2020 they wrote and starred in the West End play The Comeback – pictured above – about a bickering double act. The production's run was interrupted by Covid.
