Sex Education scoops three accolades

Sex Education cleaned up at Channel 4's first National Comedy Awards for Stand-Up To Cancer. 

The Netflix show was named best scripted comedy, with  Asa Butterfield taking best actor, Emma Mackey best actress and Ncuti Gatwa best supporting performance – all based on audience votes.

Tom Allen presented the ceremony from the Roundhouse in Camden, North London, and will air on Channel 4 on Saturday.

Here is the full list of winners:

Best podcast: Shagged. Married. Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey.
 
Best comedy actor: Asa Butterfield for Sex Education.
 
Best scripted comedy: Sex Education.
 
Best comedy actress: Emma Mackey for Sex Education.
 
Best stand-up show: Ricky Gervais for Supernature.
 
Best female entertainment performance:  Katherine Ryan.

Outstanding supporting role; Ncuti Gatwa for Sex Education.
 
Male comedy entertainment performance: Sean Lock
 
Caroline Aherne award for writing: Sharon Horgan.
 
 Comedy entertainment show: Taskmaster 

Comedy breakthrough performance: Munya Chawawa.
 
Victoria Wood lifetime achievement award: Billy Connolly.
