Ab Fab star tipped for New Year honour

Ab Fab star Joanna Lumley is set to be made a Dame in the New Year’s Honours, it has been reported.

The 75-year-old actress will be recognised for her campaigning on behalf of the Gurkhas as well as her work in television and film, The Mail on Sunday says.

Se previously received an OBE in 1995, and recently spoke about collecting the gong, recalling: ‘You don’t remember much except for the beating heart when you walk up and step forward and step back and you’re trying to get all that right.’

’It’s pretty and friendly and not frightening, but it’s always scary  to meet the Queen, funnily enough. The Queen is the Queen. And  you can’t believe it, you get so taken aback by seeing someone who’s so frantically familiar.

The Honours List is due to be published later this week. Tennis star Emma Raducanu has been tipped to receive an MBE and James Bond star Daniel Craig is set to receive the CMG, a prestigious award usually handed to spies
