Chris and Rosie Ramsey land their own BBC Two series
Chris and Rosie Ramsey are to host their own late-night BBC Two comedy entertainment series next year.
The commission of the six-part series follows the success of the couple’s Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed podcast, which has been downloaded almost 90million times so far.
In each 45-minute episode of The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, the couple will be joined by another celebrity couple to poke fun at the likes of growing-up, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting. Plus, in a format taken straight from their podcast, they’ll be asking. ‘What’s Your Beef?’
Chris Ramsey said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to have a show on the BBC, slightly annoyed that my years and years hard graft and solo work did nothing to achieve me this, but the moment I get my wife involved, it happens. But hey ho, you take what you can get.’
Rosie added: ‘You’re welcome, Chris.’
Chris did have his own show on Comedy Central, which ran for two series in 2017 and 2018 – before he rocketed to greater fame via Strictly Come Dancing.
Kate Phillips, director of entertainment at the BBC, commissioned the show from programme-makers Avalon – whose management arm represents the couple.
Sje said: ‘Chris and Rosie are one of the funniest and frankest couples I know. To have them at the helm of a brand new series packed full of very relatable, relevant issues, especially after so many people were locked down together, will be a great treat for 2022.’
