Rob Delaney to voice Sexy Beasts dating show

BBC Three series revived Netflix

Netflix is to remake off-the-wall BBC dating show Sexy Beasts, with Catastrophe’s Rob Delaney providing the voiceover.

Described as ‘The Masked Singer but for dating’, the series originally aired on BBC Three in 2014 and features contestants transformed with prosthetic makeup into animals and mythical creatures. The aim is to make the potential partners concentrate on personality, not looks.

British-based production company Lion TV is working on the new version, with Hollywood trade paper Variety revealing Delaney’s involvement today.

The first six-part half-hour episodes will be released globally on July 21, with a second season of six  due later this year.

Simon Welton, creator and executive producer for Lion TV, said: ‘Making Sexy Beasts for Netflix has been an incredibly exciting process.

‘With an international cast featuring some truly brilliant characters, a host of prosthetics which look extraordinary in 4K and with Rob Delaney narrating, the viewers are in for a real treat. I hope the show puts a smile on peoples’ faces as they play along to discover who’ll fall in love with who, and what our cast all really look like.’
