Katherine Ryan-fronted jewellery show to return

The BBC has ordered a second series of the Katherine Ryan-fronted craft show All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star.

An average of 2.3million viewers watched the first six-part BBC Two series in which eight jewellers showcased their work, before 24-year-old diamond mounter Hugo Johnson, from Haywards Heath, took home the title

Ryan said:  ‘I am so delighted to be back again to host the beautiful show that is All That Glitters. The first series was a total joy to be a part of and taking part in the next series has absolutely nothing to do with the diamond rings, ruby tiaras or sapphire encrusted chokers I may or may not get to wear if my rider is agreed to.’

Six new episodes have been commissioned from Bristol-based producers Twenty Twenty, whose creative director James O’Reilly said: ‘The series really resonated with viewers at home and we’re delighted to have Katherine Ryan returning as our host.’

BBC commissioner Jack Bootle added: ‘The audience response to All That Glitters has been amazing. It's so exciting to build on a series that celebrates British craft and creativity.’
