Tim Brooke-Taylor left just £2,000 after his death last year, it has been revealed today.

Despite the small sum, a spokesman the comedian’s widow Christine has not been left penniless - perhaps suggesting some canny inheritance planning

‘She has not been left destitute,’ her spokesman told the Daily Mail, which first reported on the estate.

Brooke-Taylor had a 50-year career in showbusiness, incorporating The Goodies, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and more.

He died last year, aged 79, after contracting coronavirus, and his wife is the sole beneficiary of his estate,

The couple, who were married for 52 years, lived in the exclusive Berkshire village of Cookham Dean, and had two sons, Ben and Edward.
