Amazon Prime Video is to air the British remake of hit French comedy-drama Call My Agent!, it has been announced.

The series will also feature previously unannounced cameos from Kelly Macdonald, Helena Bonham Carter  and Olivia William, with more names to be released.

W1A creator John Morton is writing and directing the first two episodes and executive producing the series

Earlier this month the core cast was announced as including. Lydia Leonard, Jack Davenport, Maggie Steed,  Tim McInnerny and Jim Broadbent.

Amazon says: ‘The adaptation retains the essence of the French series, where a Parisian talent agency’s employees must scramble to keep their star clients happy and their business afloat after the sudden death of their founder.  However, the remake will incorporate John Morton’s unique British sensibility and introduce some new storylines.’

The writer said it was ‘a privilege to be working with an extraordinary cast, along with some star-studded cameos, who together represent the best of Britain’s talent’.

The French version, originally titled Dix Pour Cent, launched in 2015, and became an international lockdown hit on Amazon Prime’s rival Netflix. A 90-minute TV film and a fifth season are in the pipeline.

‘Call My Agent! has been a runaway hit; we’re delighted to have worked hand-in-hand with the creative teams behind the show to bring a uniquely British slant for Prime Video members in the UK and Ireland,’ said Amazon executive Martin Backlund.

‘The incredible ensemble cast, coupled with the talented team behind the cameras, means it’s sure to be something special, and we’re looking forward to seeing how our customers respond.’

No broadcast date has yet been announced.
