Jack Whitehall starts filming Travels With My Father series 5
Jack Whitehall has confirmed that he is recording a new series of Travels With My Father.
The comic says he and his dad Michael, the former theatrical agent, have started filming this week – but said they had been confined to the UK because Covid has put the kibosh on their globetrotting.
He told Metro that had it not been for the pandemic ‘we’d have tried to do another show abroad… we talked about Japan or South America or places in far-flung corners of the world.’
But because of coronavirus ‘we decided we’d head around the UK and found some really interesting places to go, which I thought my dad will enjoy.
‘We’ve been separated over lockdown but we just started filming the new series this week so I’ll be spending a lot more time with both my parents over the next month.’
This will be the fifth series of the Netflix travelogue, which has run for 15 episodes so far covering South East Asia, Eastern Europe, the US and Australia.
Whitehall also appeared in last night’s episode of A League Of Their Own Road Trip, Loch Ness To London, joining Romesh Ranganathan, Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff for the Scottish leg of their Sky One trip.
And the comic has written a book with Michael and mum Hilary linked to their travels, entitled How To Survive Family Holidays, which will be released in October.
He was speaking to Metro to plug an eBay campaign he is fronting, also featuring his parents:
