Shrill to end after third series

End of the road for Aidy Bryant and Lolly Adefope sitcom

Shrill, the US sitcom starring Aidy Bryant and Lolly Adefope, is to end after its third series.

Production on the latest season wrapped a month ago, Bryant revealed on Instagram – and now the Hollywood trade press has reported it will be the last.

The show, which was streamed on Hulu, was inspired by Lindy West’s 2016 book Shrill: Notes From A Loud Woman. It is available in the UK on BBC iPlayer.

Adefope plays Fran, the best friend and roommate of Bryant’s lead character Annie.

Bryant  said: ‘Shrill has been one of the most creatively satisfying experiences of my life, a true labour of love for me and everyone who worked so hard on it.

‘We are incredibly proud of this upcoming third and final season and are so grateful to the audience who connected with this story.’
