Prince Harry to appear on a stand-up show
Prince Harry is to appear on the bill of an American stand-up show next week.
The Duke of Sussex has been announced as a special guest at the annual Stand Up For Heroes fundraiser run by the New York Comedy Festival.
As the gig will, of course, be virtual, the prince will be able to make his contribution – details of which have not been revealed – from his California home.
The show raises awareness and funds for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, whose mission to help veterans and military families is close to the royal’s heart.
Caroline Hirsch, founder of the New York Comedy Festival and owner of Carolines on Broadway comedy club, said: ‘We owe so much to our brave military veterans and their families for the service and sacrifice to our country; it’s very humbling to have the opportunity to honour them over the last 14 years through this great event.’
Harry will be sharing the bill with comedians Ronny Chieng, Tiffany Haddish, Iliza Shlesinger, and host Jon Stewart as well as other performers including Sheryl Crow and Bruce Springsteen.
It takes place next Wednesday at 9pm Eastern Time – 2am on Thursday morning in the UK – on ABC News Live, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch and elsewhere.
