Guz Khan comedy wins Broadcast award

Man Like Mobeen has been named best comedy at this year’s Broadcasts Digital Awards.

Guz Khan’s comedy knocked fellow BBC Three comedy The Young Offenders in to the second, ‘highly commended’ place in the industry accolades.

The other shortlisted shows were Brassic, Breeders, Enterprice and This Country.

Comedy Central’s Transaction, a semi-autobiographical show from transgender comic Jordan Gray was named best short-form scripted programme.

She tweeted: ‘We only bluddy WON! This goes out to shelf-stacking transgender narcissists everywhere!’

The best short-form format went to the darkly funny FML short Most Racist Uber Ride Ever, which was made for the Get Pulped network.

The awards, which were hosted by Tom Allen, celebrate the best shows not made for terrestrial TV networks.

BBC Three was named channel of the year.
