Could the long-running comedy pop quiz be back?

Never Mind The Buzzcocks has been revived – with Greg Davies as the host.

The Taskmaster oversaw a pilot episode of the comedy pop quiz recorded at Riverside Studios in West London earlier this month.

News of the revival was first revealed by the British Comedy Guide, with The Sun today disclosing that Davies was at the helm.

Reports say that the show is being made for Sky, but the try-out was not intended for transmission and Chortle understands that no broadcaster is formally attached to the project yet.

The original version of the panel show ran for  28 series over 18 years on BBC Two, from 1996 to 2015 on BBC Two,

The first 17 were hosted by Mark Lamarr, following by Simon Amstell for five seasons, then a rotation of  guest presenters before Rhod Gilbert took over for the last.

Phill Jupitus was a team captain, throughout all 28 series, while Sean Hughes, Bill Bailey and Noel Fielding captained the other team.

Talkback Productions, who made the original show, are also behind the revival, which is said to involve several changes to the format
