Uncle Roger's fried rice video makes comic go viral

Comedian Nigel Ng is celebrating after amassing more than one million subscribers on both YouTube and TikTok during lockdown.

The British-based Malaysian stand-up went viral when his character creation Uncle Roger criticised a BBC Food video about making egg fried rice at the end of July.

That video alone, below, has been watched more than 13million times.

As well as making videos during the pandemic. Ng co-hosts the podcast Rice To Meet You about Asian culture with fellow stand-up  Evelyn Mok.

The pair are also piloting a Radio 4 sketch show with Ken Cheng entitled Drop The Dead Panda.
