Aisling Bea and Mae Martin shortlisted as breakthrough talent

Comics Aisling Bea and Mae Martin have been nominated for the breakthrough award at the Edinburgh TV festival.

They have been shortlisted for creating the Channel 4 shows This Way Up and Feel Good, respectively.

The category also recognises  The End Of The F***ing World actor Naomi Ackie, Micheal Ward, who has already won this year’s Bafta rising star award for appearances in Netflix hit Top Boy and the critically acclaimed film Blue Story, The Nest star Mirren Mack and Tobi King Bakare, from I May Destroy You.

Feel Good has also been nominated for best comedy series alongside Defending The Guilty, GameFace, Mum, Sex Education. Stath Lets Flats

Up for best entertainment show are Taskmaster, Hypothetical, The Graham Norton Show, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Gogglebox and The Rap Game UK.

And best TV presenter nominees are Adam Hills, Ant & Dec, Big Narstie & Mo Gilligan, Graham Norton,  Kathy Burke, who has hosted Have I Got News For You and Martin Lewis.

 Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe and The BBC telethon Big Night In are among the nominees for the Creativity In Crisis, set up for this year only.

The results will be announced on November 18.
