Radio 4 commissions tech series from comic Olga Koch

Russian infiltrates the BBC....

Radio 4 has signed up Russian-born comedian Olga Koch for her own four-part comedy series.

OK Computer will draw on her background as a computer scientist to examine how technology is changing the world.

The half-hour shows, to air in the 6.30pm slot next summer, will mix storytelling, stand-up, and interviews and feature her artificial intelligence assistant, Algo.

Koch, who was educated in New York and is now based in the UK, previously spoke about the topic in her Edinburgh show If/Then last year, which subsequently went on tour.

The new commission follows her previous stand-up special for   Radio 4, Fight.

Executive producer Victoria Lloyd said: ‘We’re delighted to be working with Olga again. Her Radio 4 special Fight was brilliantly funny, and this series will delve even deeper inside her strange and wonderful comic mind.’

Koch added: ‘Bringing OK Computer to life on Radio 4 is an absolute dream come true! I am so excited, it simply does not compute!’
