And Stath Lets Flats scores three nominations

Mo Gilligan, Joe Lycett, Guz Khan, Sarah Kendall and Aisling Bea have all been shortlisted for their first Bafta awards.

Meanwhile Stath Lets Flats has secured three nominations: for best scripted comedy and for both best male comedy actor and best comedy writer for Jamie Demetriou. He was last year nominated in the same acting category.

Gilligan is up for best entertainment performance for his Channel 4 show alongside Frankie Boyle, Graham Norton and Lee Mack, while Kendall is up for best female comedy performance for Sky's Frayed.

Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back is shortlisted in the features category,  alongside The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan, Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing and C4 food series Snackmasters.

Guz Khan is up for best male comedy performance alongside Demetriou and Ncuti Gatwa for  Sex Education and Youssef Kerkour for Home.

Aisling Bea has been nominated as best breakthrough talent in the ‘craft’ section of the awards for writing This Way Up. She’s up against drama director  Aneil Karia, Sex Education writer  Laurie Nunn and Responsible Child writer Sean Buckley.

Fleabag continues its award dominance with six nominations, behind only The Crown and Chernobyl,  while Sex Education racked up four.

Meanwhile, nominees for the ‘must-see’ moment, as voted for by the public, include the final scene of Gavin & Stacey and the confessional scene in Fleabag as well as deaths in Coronation Street, Game Of Thrones and Line Of Duty and a Love Island ‘recoupling’.

Peep Show co-creator Jesse Armstrong is nominated in the drama writing section for Succession, which is also up for the international Bafta.
