Cast of US sitcom to reunite for a virtual read-through

The cast of US sitcom Community are to reunite, five years after the show ended.

Donald Glover, Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong and others will get together with creator Dan Harmon for a virtual ‘table-read’ of one of the old scripts.

Missing will be Chevy Chase, whose abrasive behaviour caused ructions with the rest of the cast, most notably when he   Glover: 'People think you’re funnier because you’re black.'

For the reunion, the cast will be reading the script for the fourth episode of season five, entitled Cooperative Polygrapy, which takes place as the students gather for the funeral of Chase's character Pierce Hawthorne. If first aired on NBC in 2014.

Also taking part are Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jim Rash.

The table read will stream live at 10pm UK time on Monday, May 18 on the Community YouTube channel, raising money for José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods.

It will be followed by a Q&A, for which fans can submit questions on social media using #AskCommunity and tag @CommunityTV.

Community ran for six seasons and 110 episodes between 2009 and 2015. The full run became available on Netflix last month.
